Murder at the HCPA!
Who Shot the Sheriff?

This show is perfect for amateur sleuths and people who enjoy an interactive performance experience. After enjoying the previous weekend devoted to your children or grandchildren dressing up for Halloween, it’s your turn to role play.

The townspeople of Heartsville, AZ (don’t look for it on a map) invite you and your guests to the town meetin’ at The Golden Day Saloon to find the yellow bellied coward who shot the sheriff in the back last night. Meet the locals: Miss Kitty who owns the Golden Day Saloon, ole’ Ben the town drunk, Miss Nellie who runs the infamous Bird Cage Hotel, and Snakeoil whose ointments promise to make you see double and feel single, to name a few. You might even get to play one of the 20 guest parts from saloon girls to undertakers. Audience members are encouraged to wear 1880’s Western costumes.

This performance includes Western BBQ dinner, beverages, silent auction and raffle all to benefit the programs at the HCPA. Seating is limited and advance reservations are required. Individual tickets are $45, and tables for individual and corporate sponsors are available ranging from $450 to $7,500. Make individual reservations on-line, check-out the benefits of sponsorship by clicking on the “Sponsorship Opportunities” link on this web site, and contact the management of the HCPA to finalize your sponsorship. For individual tickets, click on the “Shows for Public” link.

Because the staff at the HCPA is dedicated but small, they can’t possibly cover all of the duties that make a performance facility cost effective and convenient. Every venue such as the HCPA relies on the good will and dedication of volunteers. We invite you to participate in this meaningful way. There are a variety of tasks that volunteers can accomplish. Every person who desires to play their part as a volunteer will find a way that fits his or her schedule and interests. Some examples of the opportunities to volunteer include:

Office support – create databases, organize mailings, prepare for shows

Technical support – lend a hand with load-in and set-up for shows, operating theatrical equipment

Ushering – assist with lobby supervision, program distribution, information table coverage, and helping patrons find their seats.

Box Office – staff the box office during the week or during performances

Marketing – contact businesses about purchasing advertising or sponsoring performances
